In the last five years there were at least two workshops with predominantly international participation organized by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the broad area of complex systems. There was also one national conference in Medical physics and two conferences (2006 and 2008) of the national society of physicists with international participants.

There is a cooperation and a number of joint publications with colleagues from Solid State Institute of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Verkine Institute in Kharkov, Ukraine, Joint Institute of Nuclear research in Dubna, Russia, Rugjer Boscovic Institute in Zagreb, Croatia. Younger members of the Institute of Physics visit the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste under agreement with the Centre.
