At the recently held Council of the Balkan Physical Union (BPU) in Constanta, Romania (July 6th, 2012), leaders of the Southeastern European Network in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics (SEENET-MTP) Network were honored by election to the high positions in the Balkan Physical Union.
President of the SEENET-MTP Network, Prof. Dr. Radu Constantinesu , was elected for the Scientific Secretary of the BPU for the period of three years. Executive Director of the SEENET-MTP Network and its permanent Office in Nis, Prof. Dr. Goran Djordjevic, was elected for the Vice President of the BPU, also for the period of three years.
The new president of BPU is Ass. Prof. Yesin Oktem from University of Istanbul, Turkey.
The next, 9th General Conference of the Balkan Physical Union will be held in Istanbul in 2015
